The Bullring Bull's many outfits during 2020 (plus the best of the rest from 2019)

While the pandemic and lockdowns meant the Bullring Bull didn't have as many outfits as in previous years, it didn't stop the costume designer at the Bullring from giving him an outfit. From Chinese New Year to St Patricks Day. From Back to School to Christmas, and some others in between.

Not as many outfits on the world famous Bullring Bull in 2020 due to the Pandemic and the two lockdowns. Plus the tier system. But there has been a few, a couple before the first lockdown. And several outfits when restrictions were eased. Plus one in time for Christmas. Plus a look back at the other 2019 outfits after my original May 2019 post on the Bullring Bull. Enjoy!

January 2020

It was Chinese New Year, and it was the Year of the Rat. Little did we know that a few months later a pandemic would be declared and we would enter lockdown.

March 2020

Dressed up for St Patrick's Day, but the Annual St Patrick's Day Parade was sadly cancelled, and has yet to be rearranged. As many other events at the time got cancelled. Then at the end of the month we entered a long period of lockdown.

August 2020

The first lockdown was pretty much over by the summer as restrictions were being eased. And the Bull got it's first outfit in around 5 months, just in time for kids to go Back to School. As they hadn't been at school since the lockdown in March.

October 2020

Bit of a controversial outfit here. With a pink bra and knickers, but the bull is male not female! It was for Breast Cancer Awareness.

December 2020

Ending the year of the pandemic and lockdowns with Christmas pyjamas with penguins on them. And a Christmas hat.

Back in August 2019 for the launch of Peaky Blinders series 5. It might be a long wait for series 6 due to delays caused by the pandemic in 2020.

ANNATOMIX

Come with Birmingham We Are and one of their followers of street art Elliott on a digital tour of the street art of Brummie legend Annatomix. Known for her distinctive origami style foxes. Halloween Decorations around Kings Heath on the 31st October 2020

We are closer to a Covid Christmas now than Halloween. But on the afternoon of the 31st October 2020, I had one last walk around Kings Heath before the 2nd lockdown announcment. Mainly to see those flower planters on closed roads. But also saw Halloween decorations in front of houses, in windows etc. Pumpkins, skeletons, cobwebs!

HALLOWEEN KINGS HEATH, 31ST OCTOBER 2020

A month late, but Happy Halloween! The Nightmare Before Christmas! It was heavily raining on the morning of the 31st October 2020, and with a dry spell in the afternoon, I got the 11C bus to Kings Heath. Mainly to see the Low Traffic Neighbourhood around Kings Heath. But couldn't help notice some houses had Halloween decorations out at the time. It was rumoured that another lockdown was coming, but it wasn't confirmed until later that day.

Halloween bunting spotted on a hedge on Colmore Road in Kings Heath.

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (1).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Passing Vicarage Road and Kings Heath Park and onto Avenue Road. Saw this window with these decorations inside. The Day of the Dead!

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (2).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Then onto Highbury Road. Social Distance Trick or Treaters Welcome Here! Skeleton on the wall.

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (3).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Later after seeing the last of the LTN flower planters went down Springfield Road to get the 11A bus home.

Various Halloween decorations around this tree plus a hand!

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (4).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Cobwebs around this telegraph pole and on the bushes.

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (5).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

More Halloween decorations in this window with the blue plaque for Miss Minnie May (who was a Teacher of Dressmaking that lived here in 1939).

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (6).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Near the end of the road was this pair of carved pumpkins. Looks like a bat.

dndimg alt="Halloween Kings Heath" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Halloween Kings Heath (Oct 2020) (7).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

A more traditional scary Halloween pumpkin carving!

Over the Moon Lantern Installation at The Arcadian

Over the Moon is a Netflix film (with a limited cinema release), and to promote it, they are having a Lantern Installation at The Arcadian in the Chinese Quarter / Southside. I popped by on Sunday lunchtime, but these can also be seen lit up after dark. A bit like those Magical Lantern displays in years gone by. It is free. I believe they will be up until the middle of November 2020.

Over the Moon appears to be a new Netflix film. And to promote it, there is a Lantern Installation at The Arcadian in Southside / Chinese Quarter. It is viewable from the central circular area. It has been on display from the last few weeks of October 2020, and I think it will still be there until the middle of November 2020.

More details on Over the Moon. The film was released in select cinemas on the 16th October 2020 and on Netflix on the 23rd October 2020. It is a computer animated film.

Gallery below of the laterns in the daylight. But you could see them after dark to get the full effect. Now we are back in Greenwich Mean Time, it might be dark enough after 5pm or 6pm GMT.

Star Wars cosplay and costumes at the November 2016 MCM Birmingham Comic Con at The NEC

I've only been to MCM Birmingham Comic Con once at The NEC. This was back in November 2016. Many Star Wars fans turning up in costume. Stormtroopers, some with lightsabers etc. Plus was stationary displays about the convention hall. While I never got around to booking a ticket again for the later conventions at The NEC, it sounds like all the 2020 cons are cancelled. 2021 cons?

STAR WARS AT THE NEC

I attended the MCM BIRMINGHAM COMIC CON on Sunday 20th November 2016 on a General Admission ticket. It was in Hall 5. But you had to queue up in Hall 1, to get checked in, get your ticket scanned, and get your hand stamped.

On the way in saw all of these Stormtroopers from Star Wars in the queue in Hall 1. They were probably members of the 501st Legion.

dndimg alt="Star Wars" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Star Wars MCM Bham CC (Nov 2016) (1).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

They liked to pose with their blasters.

dndimg alt="Star Wars" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Star Wars MCM Bham CC (Nov 2016) (3).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Later spotted them again in Hall 5.

dndimg alt="Star Wars" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Star Wars MCM Bham CC (Nov 2016) (4).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Later saw a parade of Stormtroopers heading out of Hall 5.

A Clone Trooper.

dndimg alt="Star Wars" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Star Wars MCM Bham CC (Nov 2016) (6).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

At least one lady as a Jedi, and two Sith lords. Plus the lady in the middle as Padmé Amidala.

dndimg alt="Star Wars" dndsrc="../uploadedfiles/Star Wars MCM Bham CC (Nov 2016) (17).jpg" style="width: 100%;" />

Not sure about this cosplayer below, but probably a Sith lord with two lightsabers. With a Spider-Man style mask.
